What's really fun about these little creations is, as they cook the cheese will bubble and brown and add to the slightly gross cheesy feet appeal. You may get slightly grossed out at that thought but I'm telling you the kids will love it. To be honest my friends went slightly crazy for them too. They do taste delicious.
150g Cheddar cheese, grated
150g plain flour, sifted
100g softened butter
1 egg
salt and pepper
2tbsp chopped chives
1tsp Dijon mustardSo to start, heat the oven at 200C. Put the grated cheese into a mixing bowl along with the sifted flour, salt, pepper, mustard and chives. Now add the softened butter and mix together with a spoon. Gradually add the beaten egg and mix throughly. Once a dough has formed, place on a floured surface. I used a large egg so my mixture was bit runny, if that happens just add some more flour until it holds together without being to sticky.
Roll out the dough to roughly the thickness of a £1 coin and using cookie cutters (I got my feet shaped ones here), stamp out you cheesy shapes. Obviously if you haven't got a feet cutter, you can experiment with different shapes. Place onto parchment lined baking trays and cook for 10mins, until pale golden brown.
I like to serve with sour cream and chive dip. Yum.
So loving these - am passing the idea on to my friends with little ones, children not feet I mean! Thanks G x
