Okay, I have to admit I am a bit of a horder, a collector of 'things'. Little bits, that one day WILL be useful. I even have several 'things' boxes that store away these treasured items. The problem comes from the fact that a lot of these 'things' either inspire me in some way or spark a memory or story. Big or small, I like to keep them to help me remember these moments. It can range from old cinema tickets, magazine cuttings, napkins, coins, receipts, champange corks...... In anyone else's case, junk. So I decided, instead of hording things away in boxes never to be seen or 'appreciated' that I would display some of these treasures in a quirky way. This was really easy to make. Simply gather together some of your bits and bobs. Fiddle about and arrange in an order until your happy. I used an ikea frame for this, but you could use any frame you like, just makes sure it's a deep boxed frame if you have anything 3D. Glue gun or use double sided tape to stick your things to the piece of card that will go in you frame.
All of these items trigger a memory or story and the theme for this collection is around my husband and I - (well it was Valentines at the weekend!) I have to say I'm pretty happy with the result. I think the possibilites are endless with this idea. You could do a collection of 'things' from your wedding day, honeymoon, holidays, the kids growing up, leaving uni, finishing school, birthday and they would make such easy but personal gifts.
Happy Monday. xx
