Recently I've been getting alot more headaches, maybe I'm getting old or not drinking enough water. So I decided to make myself an eye mask to help me sleep off headaches and get more beauty sleep. I think these are a great afternoon project or a thoughtful gift for someone - I'm in the middle of making another one for my sister who is a nurse and works nights. I had a good look online for some inspiration of desgin and colour. This design I was inspired by a gorgeous baby blanket I saw on Pinterest. To make, first cut out a paper template to work from (this took me a few tries to get the right shape that I wanted). This template is actually for the fox design I'm working on, but you get the idea. 1. Cut out the felt to the size of my template. 2. Decorate the front of the mask however you like. For the sheep design I just cut out lots of cloud shapes for the body and little black 'T's' for the head and stitched them on, adding little black stitches for the legs. 3. Once your happy with your design, cut out another piece of felt for the back of your mask - I cut mine slightly bigger to create the bubbled edge. 4. Stitch together around the edge. 5. To finish take a piece of elastic or an old head band and securely stitch or glue each end to either side of the mask - I used to small pieces of extra felt to then cover over the elastic for a neater finish.
